Hip Arthroscopy and Preservation Could Significantly Reduce the Need for Future Total Hip Replacement

Hip Arthroscopy is a surgical procedure to diagnose and treat different injuries and disorders in the hip. An arthroscope is entered into the hip with the help of small incisions performed by the surgeon. A monitor displays the arthroscope’s findings; this helps the surgeon to recognize where the location of the pain is and/or a condition that needs to be treated. If the patient requires treatment, the surgeon makes further incisions to insert the needed surgical tools. Hip Arthroscopy is preferred to traditional hip surgery, since it is less invasive with small incisions and requires shorter recovery times.
